At Takapuna Boating Club, our members are passionate adventurers who share a love for the water. Whether you’re a competitive sailor, an enthusiastic paddler, or simply enjoy the social atmosphere, we offer something for everyone. Join us and become part of a vibrant, welcoming community that provides unparalleled access to the stunning Takapuna waterfront.

Active Membership (Senior, Family, Junior & Student)
At Takapuna Boating Club, our Active Membership is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in both sailing and paddling. Whether you're a sailor eager for competition or a paddler looking for adventure, this membership provides access to the best of both worlds. Our experienced coaches, regular club events, and facilities make it easy to explore both activities, regardless of your skill level. Storage options available.

Social Membership (Social & Social Couple)
For those who enjoy the social aspects of boating life, our social membership offers access to club events, gatherings, and the chance to be part of the vibrant community without needing to actively participate in water sports.

How to Join

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS.

FULL ACTIVE.

  • Free use of club owned equipment, from yachts, surfski and stand up paddle boards.

    Personal access tag for use of facilities on lower level, incl. hot showers and toilets.

    Storage facilities for stand-up paddle boards and surf skis upon request (these are paid for separately and are dependent on availability).

    Ability to join regular surfski training sessions or group paddling events.

    Invitation to club organized Tactic Evenings.

  • Active Adult Member: $373

    Student (full-time under 25): $169

    Junior (under 19): $169

    Family: $556 for two family members (two adults or one adult + one child under 19).

    Family: $576 for three or more family members (two adults and three or more children under 19).

    Please Note: all membership prices include mandatory Yachting NZ and Auckland Yachting & Boating Assn fees.

SOCIAL.

  • Access to the clubhouse and outside deck during opening hours.

    A discount at the member’s bar for drinks. You are welcome to bring family and friends along to enjoy the beachfront views (but must remember to sign them in).

    The boat club runs various social club events over the year for its members, from quiz nights, themed evenings, sporting and community events.

  • Social Member: $153

    Social Couple: $230 (must live at same address)
