SAILING.
LEARN TO SAIL.
This course will introduce participants to dinghy sailing, teaching you all the knowledge and skills needed to set sail safely. Centred around having fun, developing a love for sailing and building water confidence, this course is a great start to your sailing journey.
Boats (RS Quest) and Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are provided throughout the course.
YNZ qualified coaches.
YNZ Level 1 certified course, participants awarded Level 1 certifications upon completion of the course.
Non-member participants will receive a short-term social membership for the duration of the course of the Level 1 course.
TEST THE WATERS.
Where: On Takapuna Beach, directly in front of the Takapuna Boating Club.
Who: Suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over. No previous sailing experience is required. You must be able to swim 50m wearing a lifejacket.
Cost: $300 for Takapuna Boating Club Active Members, $400 for Non-Members.
Limited space on each course (minimum of 4 & maximum of 8)

COURSE INFORMATION.
We’re excited to introduce a Level 1.5 Learn to Sail Course for sailors who have completed the YNZ Level 1 Programme and want to build on their skills in the RS Quest. Over 4 weeks you’ll learn how to:
How to use the gennaker
More sailing and racing terminology
Improved boat handling and confidence in a wider range of conditions
Basic trapeze skills (if applicable)
Practical race-course skills and faster sailing techniques
Course Dates: 4 Day Course Monday 5th Jan - Thursday 8th Jan 1pm-4.30pm.
4 week course starting Saturday 21st Feb 12.30pm-3.30pm
(course dates: 28th Feb, 7th, 14th, - Save Day 21st March)
