KING OF THE WAITEMATA 2026
The King of the Waitemata is a counter-clockwise - 37km circumnavigation of Auckland's Rangitoto and Motutapu Islands, open to all foiling and skiff classes.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT.
The 2026 edition of the race will be held on Saturday 7 November at Takapuna Boating Club. (Save Day Sunday 8 November)
Entries are now open, but get in quickly as it is strictly limited to 50 entries.
Each entrant must be capable of completing the course in under 3 hours.Check In Times
All competitors must check in at Takapuna Boating Club.
Compulsory safety briefing at 10:30
Time of first warning signal 12.00 - Regular
Time of first warning signal 13.00 - Elite
Prizegiving following the completion of racing at Takapuna Boating Club with the bar open for drinks and food. Your entry fee includes pizza at the prize giving.
To Enter:Entry fee: $70 (payment to be made at time of entry - either by stripe through the system or online banking). Bank Account details on entry form.
Late Entry fee: $90 after Friday 23 October
Entries close: 5pm Thursday 29 October 2026 (no entries on the day)
Race Documents:
