PADDLING.

The Takapuna Boating Club and Akarana Ocean Paddlers have teamed up to bring you Sunday Sundowners, a winter paddling series to keep us JAFA’s active and social over winter!

At two waterfront locations in Auckland on Sunday afternoons, these casual races are open to skis / any kayaks suitable for the sea, waka ama and SUPs. Everyone is welcome!

Short, sharp races– There will be a 6-8km race, with 3-4km and 1-2km options also available. $10 entry fee ($5 for short courses).

There will be some beginner skis available to use for juniors or those new to the sport.

Series dates/locations are:

Sunday 9 August - Akarana Marine Sports Centre, Okahu Bay
Sunday 23 August - Takapuna Boating Club, Takapuna

Sunday 6 September - Akarana Marine Sports Centre, Okahu Bay

Sunday 20 September - Takapuna Boating Club, Takapuna

Sunday 4 October- Akarana Marine Sports Centre, Okahu Bay

Sunday 18 October - Takapuna Boating Club, Takapuna

Registration from 2.30pm, Briefing at 3.15pm, race start at 3.30pm then into the club bar/kitchen for post-race banter.
