Welcome to Takapuna Boating Club

Our prestigious location on Takapuna Beach with easy access to the harbour and gulf makes Takapuna an ideal spot for sailing, paddling and other water activities.

Our worldwide reputation has been generated by conducting many World Championships especially the Summer of Sailing 2008 when we held four consecutive World champs for Olympic classes prior to the Beijing Olympics 2008. This was only possible by the ongoing support of an excellent Steering Committee, Race Management team and our wonderfully energetic volunteers, many of them being social members of the club.

The Takapuna Clubhouse is open to all members and their guests for Friday night meals. The caterer provides a range of interesting menus and themes. Each week’s menu s circulated by email. The bar is open Tuesday – Friday evenings 4.30-7pm and everyone is most welcome. There is always something happening on the Reserve and beach to enjoy from our Clubhouse.

We have a history to be proud of, and a future to look forward to with enthusiasm, as we follow the progress of our young sportspeople that compete at World Championships, and the Olympics.

It’s a great club to belong to, whether you are competing on the water, or helping as a volunteer, or merely using the superb location to meet up with friends and family.  We will strive to merit your confidence, and make every visit to TBC a memorable occasion.  I look forward to meeting you and seeing how we can enhance your enjoyment as a member of TBC.
